Meet the Doctors

Dr. Jenny Yoo-Park and her team provides the best orthodontic care in a friendly environment to the residents of Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Mountain View, Atherton, and the surrounding area.  Dr. Yoo-Park enthusiastically offers patients technological advances such as the new self-ligating brackets, almost invisible ceramic brackets and Invisalign supported by digital imaging and advanced computer graphics to ensure that their patients receive effective care and beautiful smiles.

Dr. Yoo believes everyone should have a smile they would love to share. She enjoys being a positive part of her patients' lives.

Dr. Yoo graduated at the top of her class from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Yoo then went on to earn her Orthodontic Certificate and Masters in Craniofacial Biology from the University of Southern California. During her three years of advanced training in orthodontics, Dr. Yoo has attended courses throughout the world to increase her expertise. She continues to attend courses to stay up to date with the latest advances in orthodontics in order to deliver the best possible care to her patients.

Dr. Yoo is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Mid-Peninsula Dental Society and the Bay Area Orthodontic Study Club.

Dr. Yoo grew up in Saratoga, California and is married to Chul-Kyun Park, a pediatric anesthesiologist. They now have a female goldendoodle named Charlie. Charlie enjoys being in the office and greeting patients! In her free time, Dr. Yoo enjoys running, hiking, biking, scuba diving and reading.

Dr. Sona Bekmezian "Dr. Sona"

Dr. Sona was born in Armenia and moved to southern California with her family when she was 2 years old. She grew up in the sunny San Fernando Valley and went on to complete her undergraduate studies in Biology at UCLA. She then moved to San Francisco to pursue her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at UCSF. Dr. Sona worked as a general dentist in San Francisco for two years before returning to UCSF for her Orthodontic residency. She concurrently earned a Master's in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, studying how to protect teeth from the cavities that occur around braces during orthodontic treatment. 

Dr. Sona lives in San Francisco with her sister. Dr. Sona works at various orthodontic practices around the bay area and is excited to join the Palo Alto Orthodontics team! When she is not having fun working alongside Dr. Yoo, Dr. Sona is also working towards starting an orthodontic clinic for children with craniofacial anomalies at Children's Hospital Oakland.

Dr. Sona loves singing along to Disney soundtracks, exploring the natural beauty of the bay area, experimenting with ingredients in the kitchen, and teaching Sunday school for children at her local church.
